DRUG USE IS SURGING IN TUNISIA
Drug use is increasing and becoming more commonplace in Tunisia, particularly among young people, according to health professionals. Cannabis, ecstasy, and cocaine are gaining ground, while trafficking networks are expanding their operations in the country. Authorities are concerned about this trend, exacerbated by the lack of specialized facilities and reliable data on users. A new national survey is to be launched to assess the extent of the problem and adapt addiction prevention and treatment policies.
