TWO NEW EBOLA VACCINES IN DRC
The World Health Organization has announced the upcoming inclusion of two new vaccine candidates against the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus in a clinical trial in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Developed respectively by the University of Oxford and the American laboratory Moderna, these vaccines will be evaluated for the first time during an outbreak of this strain. The disease has already claimed more than 5,000 lives in the country since the start of the epidemic. The first results of the vaccine trials are expected in early 2027.
